  الأستاذ أحمد الخميسي يرد على تعليقات القراء حول كتابه

بداية أود أن أشكر منتدى الكتاب العربي ، الذي وجد في مجموعة " قطعة ليل " ما يستحق القراءة ، ثم المناقشة ، فوضع المجموعة ضمن برنامجه . وكنت أعتقد  دائما ومازلت أن " الوقت " هو أثمن ما في الحضارة البشرية ، لهذا أشكر بصدق كافة الزملاء الذين اقتطعوا من أوقاتهم ساعات لقراءة المجموعة والتعليق عليها .  بعض الآراء التي وردت مازالت تدعوني للتفكير طويلا ، في كيفية الكتابة ، وما  الذي يصل منها إلي القارئ ، وكيف يمكن أن أكتب القصة القصيرة ، من ذلك قول  الأستاذ محمد عابد إن العمل يقترب من السيرة الذاتية ، وهناك ما يستحق التوقف عند  هذا الرأي ، لأن الكثير من القصص أقرب بالفعل لمقاطع من سيرة ذاتية ، ومثل  إعجاب الأستاذ برهان رياض بقصة " غيمة " ، لأن في ذلك الإعجاب إشارة إلي شئ محدد  في الكتابة ، هو أهمية الشعور ، حتى لو كان الشعور بفقدان شخص ما .

وقد توقفت طويلا عند قول الأستاذ عمرو محجوب عن قصة " نبضة " إنها : " أفضل قصص  المجموعة لأن المؤلف نجح في أن يخرج بها عن نطاق ذاتيته إلي النطاق العام ، فلها  رسالة اجتماعية واقتصادية تتعدى مجرد الذكريات " . وفي حديث الأستاذ عمرو إشارة  هامة جدا بالنسبة لي ، فقد كنت أشعر بدرجة ما بما يقوله ، لكنني لم أكن أتصور  أن تكون قصة نبضة أفضل القصص ، لأنني كنت أحس أنها " تخرج عن نطاق ذاتي " !  ومن هنا تأتي أهمية الحوار الذي نظمه المنتدى ، فهناك حيث يعتقد الكاتب أنه  أخفق ، يجد الآخرون ما يعجبون به ! وهذا أمر يدعو الكاتب للتفكير ، ومراجعة نفسه  ، ومفهومه للكتابة . وعامة فقد أفادتني التعليقات ، وجعلتني أراجع نفسي في  بعض القضايا ، ولا أظن أن الحوار يستهدف أكثر من ذلك ، ليصل إلي هدفه . أشكر  كافة من أعطى من وقته ، وجهده ، للقراءة ، والتعليق ، ومعذرة إن كنت لم أذكر كافة الأسماء التي تفضلت بالمشاركة في ذلك النقاش .

ما اجمل قصة نتف الثلج ، والتي هي رحلة استكشاف للمشاعر البشرية وسط عبثية الكون وذلك من خلال تناول محنة المهاجر الذي لا يستطيع أن يعيش حياة مكتملة سواء في بلده الاصلي او في موطنه الجديد.

I agree that most of the stories are difficult to understand . the author succeeds in giving you the impression you almost have the finger on the meaning but not quite. I specially loved the story entitled “ghaima”.

This is a pensive book which borders on the melancholy. Most of the stories are backward rather than forward looking. Most of the characters have the air of people who are already dead or who are on the verge of disappearing forever. I get the feeling that this author has a lot more to offer.

This Short story collection by the journalist and writer Ahmad al-Khamisi disastrously failed to intertwine the Sci-Fi and Supernatural genres into the everyday life scenes of his Arab characters and in the process he produced an unconvincing, static and unsteady progress of the stories. Perhaps the Author was hoping to improve and broaden the cultural horizons of his Arab readers who must have come across such settings in the many Hollywood sci-fi films or perhaps Mr al-Khamisi thought he was not just exploring the genre but starting an Arab sci-fi and supernatural culture. But whatever his intentions were he did not succeed and the stories became weak instead gaining strength from this twist

هذه المجموعة متميزة فأسلوبهاجميل ممتع والسرد بسيط وعميق والمعاني تكاد أن تصل الى مرتبة الميتافيزيقا خاصة في قصة قطعة ليل .

"I want to thank all of your readers for their fine and incisive comments on my book. I will be sure to consider them when I get around to writing a second edition. I submit that we should all be quite pleased and happy that the Palestinian People had the opportunity to further exercise their international legal right to self-determination by means of these recent and
most democratic elections. The World has an obligation to honor and respect their choice of political leaders and to work with them in  order to terminate Israel's illegal and genocidal occupation of Palestine and Al Quds. Free Palestine!

يستعرض المؤلف ما نبه اليه القيادة الفلسطينية في بداية عملية أوسلو حول نوايا اسرائيل في اقامة حكومة فلسطينية تمثل واجهة للاحتلال وتقمع الشعب الفلسطيني نيابة عن اسرائيل بما في ذلك تشجيع قيام حرب اهلية فلسطينية وأتمنى أن تكون القيادة الفلسطينية قد تنبهت الى هذه النصيحة.

Professor boyle reproduces the arguments he made 15 years ago against an interim agreement that does not include a clear understanding on the permanent settlement. He has certainly been proved right.

I would like to thank arabworldbooks.com for last month’s excellent selection. Frances Boyle makes a long list of Israeli atrocities against Palestinians including war crimes and illegal settlements. It is impossible to ignore the profound duplicity and double standards of the international community.

Professor Boyle makes a compelling argument that the Palestinian state is indeed an internationally recognized legal entity, especially since Israel does not have true control over either the west bank or gaza. This argument means that the Palestinian state is in fact only trying to bring Israeli incursions, road blocks and killings to an end. It is a pity that no body in the world seems to understand that.

Palestine, Palestinians and International Law By Professor Francis Boyle as very competently translated into Arabic by Dr D. Alash’al traces not only the emergence of the idea of a Palestinian State but how it developed into a potent political and cultural fact. The book alludes to the amazing tenacity and leadership of Yaser Arafat and his affection for Palestine and undying faith in the Palestinians, which was manifested in his countless last stands, outbursts and above all in his genius in surrounding himself with right individuals to advance his cause of his people. One of those was the eminent and sharp-minded international lawyer professor Francis Boyle whose integrity, personal fondness for Justice and valuable legal advice contributed a great deal to the just cause of Palestine which he recounts in his book. But of course the memory of Palestine was kept alive not by speechifying but by the heroic sacrifices of the countless grass-root ordinary Palestinians citizens who never lost faith and belief in their homeland. Of course, Yaser Arafat must have sought the legal advice of other lawyers but the real legal contributions and advice of Professor Francis Boyle stood head and shoulder above the rest.

يتناول الدكتور بويل الحقوق الفلسطينية وأيضا العقبات المتكررة التي تضعها الولايات المتحدة واسرائيل في سبيل حصول الشعب الفلسطيني على حقوقه لكن أهم ما لاحظناه هو اشارته الى دور بعض الانظمة العربية والذي يتسم بالنفاق وعدم الرغبة الحقيقية في العمل المشترك لصالح القضية الفلسطينية في احسن الاحوال والتخريب المتعمد في احوال اخرى.

Professor boyle gives us a complete perspective on how the announcement of a Palestinian state came into being, he also clearly dissociates between this step and the later developments based upon the Oslo accords and establishment of the Palestinian Authority but the question he does not address is what practical use the declaration of the palestininian state was to the Palestinian people. In other words what is the use of law in an international system that is governed by force?

I have read with interest Professor Boyle’s analysis of the Israeli Palestinian conflict and his conclusions regarding the rights of the Palestinians. By the end of the book , the author proposes a number of measures to be taken in order to punish Israel for its mistreatment of Palestinians. But from a pragmatic perspective does all this make any sense? How does the professor expect the Palestinians to adopt measures against Israel at a time when western bias to Israel has reached unprecedented proportions?

الى جانب الاعتبارات القانونية والموضوعية التي استعرضها البروفيسور بويل حول الظلم الكبير الذي وقع على الشعب الفلسطيني استوقفني إقراره بحجم التضليل الذي تمارسه النخبة الأمريكية على شعبها سواء فيما يتعلف بفييتنام أو فلسطين أو مؤخرا العراق، والمأساة التي تتضح من تجربة البروفيسور بويل تتمثل في أن اللانسان الأمريكي حتى يعرف حقيقة سياسة بلده الخارجية يتعين عليه أولا أن يصبح خبيرا في القانون والسياسة، ثم يعاني بعد ذلك أشد أشكال الاضطهاد ان خرج عن الخط العام الموالي لاسرائيل.

Here is my comment related to different views on my Novel Al Riwaya :
Most of the readers comments are positive
few are positive and negative
fewer are negative
This means that readers in the Arab World are genuine in seeking creative ideas , which gives me hope for the future of our nations . Nothing like creative works open up the mind to injustices and paradoxes in our societies and others .
Readers in general are not misled by new fanatic political religious groups nor by neocolonial external powers , nor by local governments
I agree that the Novel Al Riwaya is not a simple easy work , it needs creative readers and not just readers , The language and meaning of the Novel are different from the main stream novels , many of literary critics and not only readers think it is not a novel . But what is a novel ? A novel is not a fixed piece of stone . A novel is changing all the time like life .
But some critics in our countries are rigid and non changing like stone . Even stone change over time as we know

The Novel a new book by the iconoclast feminist Nawal el-Saaadawi is a new vision of ethics and a new concept of social responsibilities. Without beginning, middle and end and lacking a plot ‘The Novel’ does not qualify to be called a novel in the traditional sense. But the coherent narrative, the beautiful complexity of the characters is clear evidence of the richness and talents of Ms Nawal el-Saadawi’s pen. The Author brings her characters to life on every page, revealing their personalities, relationships, and struggles to fit into the changing fads of Arab society, creating an engrossing narrative that explores what their behaviour can teach us about ourselves and each other. There is a wasted opportunity to bring together all of Nawal’s globetrotting and the results of her own observations abroad into The Novel. Here the writer fails to focus on the social contrasts between her Arab characters and foreign ones that would have been a very appropriate core for the work in hand. In fact there is no discernible differences between the characters, Arabs or otherwise. Nonetheless this book is a timely study of the fascination of the previous generation of Arab intellectuals with everything European which I personally think will not endure for much longer.

I find some of the criticism that has been posted by members to be unfair. Dr. Saadawi has succeeded in dissecting Egyptian society, a feat which only great writers are capable of.

الرواية أعجبتني وان كنت لاحظت ان الطابع الايديولوجي يغلب عليها وان المؤلفة تهتم بالدرجة الاولى بالتعبير عن مواقف سياسية واجتماعية دون ان تعطى اهتماما كافيا للتناول العميق للشخصيات ولرصد حركة المجتمع.

I would like to thank arabworldbooks for choosing this novel which provides an accurate social critique not only on Egyptian society but on other societies in the arab world today. Having said that I have to agree with some of the previous comments about characterization, as this is a novel inhabited by caricatures rather than people. I also did not like the title and the author’s attempt to penetrate into the creative process of writing a novel was not always successful.

This is a novel which draws an accurate picture of Egyptian society today. Although I have to mention that I found the writing somewhat sloppy, the images are not always coherent and often do not reflect a given situation.

الدكتورة نوال السعداوي من المدافعات عن حقوق المرأة وهو أمر يجب أن نحترمه ونقدره، ولا نعترض اطلاقا بأن المرأة تحتل موقعا محوريا في روايتها، لكن في نفس الوقت لايمكن أن نغفل أن دفاعها عن حقوق المرأة وصل الى حد المبالغة، فالمؤلفة تتعاطف مع شخصياتها النسائية وتكره شخصياتها الرجولية

دأبت الكثير من كاتبات هذه الأيام على الكتابة بشكل مستهتر لا يحترم مشاعر المجتمع، اللاتي يدعين التعبير عنه، وكأن هؤلاء ينتمين الى مجتمع آخر وهمي لاوجود له الا في بعض الصالونات وقصور الأثرياء أو كأنهن يتوجهن بأعمالهن للخارج باحثات عن شهرة مزيفة، وكاتبة هذا الكتاب على رأس تلك القائمة.، فهذه الرواية لا تحترم محرمات وتتطاول على التقاليد بل وعلى الدين الحنيف.
