Artificial Intelligence: Ethical Concerns

Venue: Arab World Books Online

Date: May 23, 2026

Join us via zoom for a presentation and discussion of the Ethical Concerns posed by Artificial Intelligence on Saturday May 23rd at 7 p.m. Cairo time.

The current AI Supercycle realized through substantial investment levels and rapid expansion of Artificial Intelligent Systems (AIS) has resulted in the widespread adoption of these systems which in turn will have major impacts on our societies both locally and globally.

The rise of AIS presents many ethical challenges and concerns. The AIS systems themselves will evolve over time. This discussion focuses on the potential ethical issues throughout the AIS lifecycle and their effect on the various stakeholders.

This presentation is aimed at raising the awareness of these ethical issues so that robust, yet flexible ethical standards  can be created and adhered to throughout the AIS lifecycle. These standards would need to be effectively applied to different organizations stakeholders, cultures, countries, and societies – each of which have differing beliefs and views on what is and is not ethically acceptable.

The presentation will be conducted in Arabic and moderated by Dr, Hassan Al Shazly.
