The violence of emotion
The Violence of Emotion is the English edition of the debut poetry collection by Moroccan poet Mohamed El Ghandour, known by his literary pseudonym, The Rebel Philosopher. Written in free verse, this collection explores the profound intersections of emotion and philosophy, transforming love, solitude, identity, and freedom into a deeply reflective poetic journey.
Rather than portraying emotions as fleeting feelings, El Ghandour examines them as existential experiences that shape the human condition. His poems challenge conventional perceptions of love and suffering, inviting readers to confront questions of meaning, truth, and self-discovery through lyrical language and philosophical insight.
Blending poetic sensitivity with contemplative depth, The Violence of Emotion offers an intimate exploration of the inner world, where every poem becomes a dialogue between the heart and the mind. It is a collection for readers who seek not only beautiful poetry but also a thoughtful meditation on what it means to be human.
