the first book to document part of the 2008 Israeli war on Gaza from inside. The Message from Gaza is a detailed chronicle of the 2008-2009 war. Professor Said Abdelwahed blogged on-the-ground news and observations from Gaza during the onslaught of December 2008. The messages struck a chord with Mari Oka, professor of Islamic and Middle East studies at Kyoto University, who translated and collected the posts into a book published by Sedosha in Tokyo.
