Taher Alwan

Iraq

An Iraqi researcher, writer, and translator based in the United Kingdom.

He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Screenwriting from the University of East Anglia (UK), a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism, a PhD in Audiovisual Arts, and several diplomas in written and simultaneous translation. He is the founder and director of London Tower Publishing House.

He has worked as a translator for several British institutions, including Silent Sound, Clear Voice, and Linguistic Point, and has served as a jury member at numerous international film festivals.

His professional career has included positions as a university lecturer and as a film and cultural editor for Al-Zaman International (London), Al-Arab International (London), and the Oman Daily Observer. He is a member of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) and is an accomplished screenwriter who has conducted numerous screenwriting workshops and training programs at various levels.
