Afif Shlewet was born in Shefa-amer in 1962 . He is a graduate of the university of Haifa and has a bachelors degree in Arabic language and general literature.
For two years he was the editor for (Itihad) Arabic newspaper. Later working at (Beit El-karma) theater for five years and three years spent at the local children's theater ; also one year with the Hebrew theater in Haifa . In 1997 Afif Shlewet established the (El-ghurbal) theater in Shefa-amer; directing; acting; writing productions.
Participating in many television programs, Afif produced many T.V arts program for Arabic television on Israeli channels. Afif is the executive director at the Horizon (Al_ufuq) association for culture and arts.
Afif's published work includes two short stories; three plays , a play written for children and a book about the Palestinian theater in Galilee.
