Through this series of in depth conversations with Arab and international authors, arabworldbooks.com aims to explore the vision, motivation, process, and of course, the outcomes of a writer's journey. These conversations will, hopefully, shed some light on the values and experiences that are common to writers and readers across the world, while taking into account their respective idiosyncrasies and cultural specificities.
We are delighted to feature Hartmut Fähndrich in this event. Hartmut Fähndrich is a German scholar and translator living in Switzerland since 1972. He specialises in translation of Arabic literature into German and has translated more than 70 titles of contemporary Arabic literature into German so far. His most recent book Kleine Festungen or Small Fortresses is a collection of fifty stories about Arab children and young people, from a dozen different Arab countries.
