A writer, a vision, a journey: a conversation with Bob Bowker
Venue: Arab World Books Online
Date: July 29, 2023
This event took place on Saturday, 29th July. Watch full video here:
Through this series of in depth conversations with Arab and international authors, arabworldbooks.com aims to explore the vision, motivation, process, and of course, the outcomes of a writer's journey. These conversations will, hopefully, shed some light on the values and experiences that are common to writers and readers across the world, while taking into account their respective idiosyncrasies and cultural specificities.
We are delighted to feature Professor Bob Bowker in this event.
Robert Bowker retired from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2008 after a 37 year career working mostly on the Middle East. From 2008 to 2016 he was Adjunct Professor at Australian National University Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies and Honorary Visiting Fellow from 2017 to 2019.
He is the author of six books and numerous publications on Middle East issues. His most recent book is Tomorrow There will be apricots.
