An Abduction in Algiers
Book Six, An Abduction in Algiers, begins with a gruesome scene of murdered janissary soldiers in the Hinterlands that compels Muhammad to report the massacre to the Supreme Commander of the Dey’s military. Ordered bound and held prisoner at an abandoned warehouse in the outskirts of Algiers, Muhammad’s long nightmare begins with him wondering why the Supreme Commander would punish him for reporting the terrible massacre.
When tribesmen murder the janissaries guarding him at the warehouse, Muhammad is transported along with a Turkish lady and a clever and resourceful Algerian woman to a remote mountain village. There he learns that the Dey has sentenced him to death as a murderous traitor, and that the tribesmen intend to sell him and the two women as slaves at a faraway desert oasis.
In a life-changing adventure across the luxuriant Algerian landscape, Muhammad and the women use their wits to employ palace intrigue, international diplomacy, and Turkish martial music to foil a plot to topple the Dey of Algiers. But could anyone guess how the adventure is about to change Muhammad’s life?
