Yassine Loghmari, also known as Yanis Kanaan, born on 22 February 1995 in Sousse, Son of Wissam Kanaan, is a prominent Franco-Tunisian novelist and man of letters, currently residing in Nice, recognized as one of the most important figures on the Arab literary scene. He is nicknamed “the Little Prince” in reference to his unpublished autobiography The Assassination of the Little Prince. He is also known for denouncing social injustice in the face of oppression and authoritarian Tunisian regimes. Beyond his fiction, Yassine Loghmari contributes to political essays. He is a member of the Tunisian Organization for Copyright and Related Rights (OTDAV) under the Ministry of Culture of Tunisia, as well as the International Assembly of Arab Writers and Intellectuals.
Academic Background
Yassine Loghmari ياسين الغماري obtained a high school diploma in Experimental Sciences in 2014, followed by a bachelor’s degree in Finance (French track) from 2016 to 2019 at the University of Sousse. He pursued a Master’s degree in Financial Analysis (English track) at the University of Sousse from 2019 to 2021, graduating with honors (Bien) on July 19, 2021.
In 2023, he enrolled in a joint Master’s program in Financial Risk Management (French track) at the University of Sousse, where he earned a Très Bien distinction for his thesis in 2024 with a grade of 17/20. In September 2024, he joined a third Master’s program in Economics and Human Resource Management (EMRH) at the Université Côte d’Azur. His outstanding Master’s thesis, entitled Quality of Life and Working Conditions in the Banking Sector: A Case Study of BNP Paribas and supervised by Professor Julie De-Stefano, was initially graded 16/20 (Très Bien), later revised to 15/20 (Bien). He successfully completed this program, earning the National Master’s Degree in Law, Economics, and Management, specializing in Human Resource Management.
Yassine undeniably deserved higher recognition and awards thanks to the exceptional depth of his research, his novels published in Germany, Bulgaria, and Iraq, as well as his previous academic achievements. His perseverance, sacrifices, and ability to overcome obstacles marked his path. His academic research focuses on economics, sustainable development, and social justice in the workplace. This intellectual commitment is evident both in his three theses (2021, 2024, 2025) and in his Arabic novel The Time of Chronic Fatigue, published in Germany.
