Tharwat el-Kharbawy or Tharwat Al Kharbawy was born in Sharkiyya Egypt in 1957.

Tharwat el-Kherbawy is a dissident Muslim Brotherhood former leader. He was one of the organization's key staff members who decided to leave because he was subjected to its wrath.

Tharwat el-Kherbawy is one of the few people who tried to examine the depths of the organization and unravel the secrets of the sacred temple of the Brotherhood in a book.

In his book, he explores the ideology of Morsi and the small group of leaders at the top of the movement, examining their devotion to Sayyid Qutb, a radical ideologue executed in 1966 for plotting to kill president Gamal Abdel Nasser.
