Khaled Shalakany

Khaled El Shalakany is an engineer and lawyer with degrees in engineering, management and law from several universities including Cairo University, the University of Toronto and Cambridge. He is the managing partner of Shalakany Law office (established 1912). He has authored a number of articles on law.

He translated Eric Fromm’s ‘The Heart of Man’ into Arabic (Dar El Thakafa Al Gadida 1992). He has published two collections of short stories and photographs (‘20x20’ Trafford Canada 2009 and ‘Cleopatra’s Bath’ Trafford Canada 2016) and a booklet in Arabic on politics (2011).

He recently published a novel in the Egyptian vernacular "Ani and the Sea of Time"

In 2017 Khaled El Shalakany established the web site www.thaqafni.net to increase the cultural awareness and knowledge of Egyptian youth with 107 thousand followers.
