A writer, novelist, short story writer, and media personality, she has been a member of the Iraqi Writers Union since 1987.
She served three terms as a member of the Central Council of the Iraqi Writers Union.
She was a member of the Executive Bureau of the Iraqi Writers Union, serving as Secretary of Arab Affairs from 2012 to 2014.
She was the Deputy Secretary-General of the Iraqi Writers Union from 2016 to 2018.
She has been a member of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate since 1988.
She was the head of the Iraqis for Independent Public Broadcasting organization in 2005.
She served as a media advisor to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), based in Brussels, from 2004 to 2005.
She was the director of the IFJ's International Solidarity Center for Journalists in Iraq, Brussels, from 2004 to 2005.
She was the occupational safety program officer for the International News Safety Institute (INSI) in 2005.
