أقدر كثيرا كافة الآراء والملاحظات التي طرحت والتي تستحق في مجملها ردودا قد تطول بما يتعدى المساحة المتاحة لي هنا لذلك سأوجز بقدر الإمكان. وبدءا أود أن أشكر كل من اقتطع من وقته للمشاركة النشطة في هذا الحوار ، ولا أقصد هنا الحوار الدائر حول كتاب لي فحسب إنما أشير إلى الحوار الممتد الذى يتيحه لنا المنتدى ، حيث إنني أعتبر هذه المشاركة بمثابة عمل إيجابي في حد ذاته له أهميته في عملية بناء الإنسان العربي ، فالقراءة في حد ذاتها هي عمل إيجابي ، وأما التعبير عن الرأي فهو خطوة أكثر تقدما خاصة في مجتمعات اعتادت التلقي لا المناقشة والسمع والطاعة لا المشاركة الفعالة ، ولا أتحدث هنا عن مستوى اتخاذ القرار السياسي بقدر ما أقصد كافة العلاقات الاجتماعية ، فالقراءة هي الخطوة الأولى والمشاركة الخطوة الثانية في عملية بناء الإنسان العربي ، وكل أملى أن تتسع دائرتيهما.
سوف أبدأ بالتعليق على ملاحظات الأخت سلوى ، والتي لاحظت بحسها الأدبي الرفيع أن بعض القصص مترجم عن الإنجليزية وهذا صحيح ، إلا أن البعض الآخر كتب أساسا بالعربية ، واللغة هي قضية يطول فيها الحديث ، وقد تطرقتِ إلى مدى ملاءمة استخدام بعض الألفاظ أو العبارات ، وما أود الإشارة إليه هنا هو أهمية الابتعاد عن تناول مثل هذه القضايا من منطلق أيديولجي ، فلكل عمل أدبي خصوصيته وقواعده ولا توجد قواعد جامدة يتعين تطبيقها بشكل تلقائي ، المهم هو تمكين القارئ أن يعايش الموقف بشكل كامل بغض النظر عن اعتبارات الأناقة اللفظية ، ومن المهم أن نذكر هنا أن عملية القراءة هي عملية بالغة الخصوصية ومن هنا فقدر الحرية المتاحة بها للمؤلف يتعدى كثيرا ما يمكن أن نتوقعه في ألوان أدبية أخرى كالمسرح على سبيل المثال ، أما فيما يتعلق بملاحظة أن بين القراء من يجد فى العمل الأدبي معان تختلف عما لاحظه القراء الآخرون ، فهذا ما يطلق عليه تعدد مستويات النص ، وهى خاصية أدبية مهمة لأنها تتيح لأكبر عدد من القراء التعامل مع النص الأدبي بغض النظر عن تباين مرجعياتهم الثقافية والفكرية .
أما بالنسبة لملاحظات الزملاء ماجد وأحمد وعمرو فالوضع العربي العام هو جزء لا يتجزأ من الحياة اليومية للمواطن المصري ، ويسعدني كثيرا أن هذه الرسالة على ما يبدو واضحة في العمل ، أما فيما يتعلق بملاحظة أن القصص مدروسة أكثر من اللازم وأنها تخلو من تلقائية رواية "ليلة في حياة عبد التواب توتو" فإنني وإن كنت لا أسعى إطلاقا إلى محاولة الدفاع عن عمل من أعمالي وددت الإشارة فقط إلى أن رواية توتو بها قدر من التلقائية يدهشني حتى الآن ولا أتصور إنني أستطيع تكرار هذه التجربة مرة أخرى .
وبالنسبة لملحوظة جاسم فإن الموقف الذي يتبناه الأديب لا يكون من خلال التلقين وإنما بإتاحة الفرصة للقارئ للوصول إلى رأيه بشكل مستقل ، وفي النهاية لا توجد هناك أي كتابة محايدة بشكل مطلق ، وفي هذا الصدد أقول للأخت مها إن تعاطفي مع المرأة في بلادنا هو جزء لا يتجزأ من تعاطفي مع الإنسان العربي في محنته .
أما للزميلين دنيا وهاني ، فأعترف أن قصة ثلاثة شاورمة هي قصة صعبة ومركبة لكن أحيانا يمكن أن يسمح الكاتب لنفسه بأن يرهق القارئ بعض الشيء في مقابل أن يقدم له عملا قد يستحق عناء القراءة ، وأملي أن أكون اقتربت من هذا الهدف .

I would like to thank all those who have participated in this discussion. It is extremely important for a writer to be able to get feedback from his readers. I hope my dear readers will find it useful to share some of my comments.
First of all, there is no question of trying to defend or justify my shortcomings. Once a writer decides to publish his or her art he implicitly accepts to be judged by others in an absolute and irrefutable way.
Secondly, I am gratified that some readers at least enjoyed my book, or that it stimulated their thought.
Thirdly, I am extremely grateful to those who have found good things to say about my work, but am even more grateful to those who had misgivings. Naturally, I will comment more on the points of criticism.
Borhan, I agree with you completely about the little boy in “Traffic light” the story starts at the end of a day full of fun for him, yet when he sees the bunny he still wants more, and of course cannot get it. Your reference to the human condition is insightful. But there are other elements in the story. The story takes place at the time of the second gulf war, and of the course the tragedy of the Palestinian people continues. There is an attempt to explore how anger at the external political situation merges with more personal internal pressures. This is all fused together in the crowded situation of this seemingly endless traffic light. Also, do not forget the attempt to take a quick glimpse at the relationship between both parents, and the sense of dissatisfaction and lack of fulfillment each of them feels.
Liana, I am glad you managed to read both Arabic and English versions. Some of the stories were written originally in Arabic and translated into English. Others were originally written in English and translated the other way round. Some of the stories were impossible to translate and remained in only one language. Thank you for your flattering comments.
Dalal, thank you for recommending my new story to others. Sensuality is certainly a relative concept. What is important is to explore those areas which we would rather not talk about. In a sense this is the main vocation of art. The question is how to do it in an artistic and delicate way. The difference between beauty and vulgarity is minimal, yet it is precisely this difference that defines art.
Ali Tal, I am grateful for your comment. I agree fully that it
is impossible to separate between the Egyptian landscape and the surrounding Arab countryside. Also, I believe that it is the role of the writer to uncover the most deeply held secrets, even if that entails being considered radical.
