Mohamed El-Mostafa Mohamed Abd al-Mon’im Abd al-Qawi, (hyphenated name Mohamed El-Mostafa) is an Egyptian writer and poet, from Upper Egypt, born in a town in Assiut on February 11, 1980. During his secondary school studies, his physical ability “movement” was significantly affected, a beginning of a disease considered to be a turning point in his life.

After finishing his university studies and receiving his degree, he spent a year in hospital in Cairo hoping for recovery. After years of attempts, treatments, and examinations, he was diagnosed with a rare chronic muscle disease that he has learnt to live with.

He worked in both printed and electronic journalism since 2003 and worked as an editor for the first website for the youth called “20at” He wrote for the cultural website “Ofouq”, then for “Al-Masry Al-Youm” newspaper in the books reviews, heritage and culture sections. He also lectured in the field of writing and editing creative content for websites. He is also specialized in creating and developing content for websites. Furthermore, he is interested in researching Arabic content on social media platforms.

He began publishing his books when he was a student at the university, and in 2002, one of his poems was published in a divan featuring other poets. In 2010, he published his first divan, “A Wide World in a Narrow Room,” for the Egyptian publishing house “Dar Al-Ain”, and in the same year, he won third place nationwide in the Literary Book of the Day competition Today's Literary Book Competition organized by the Egyptian “Dar Akhbar Al-Youm” Foundation with the Egyptian National Youth Authority in Classical Poetry. And in 2012, he was among the honorees at the “Mesopotamia International Poetry Festival” held in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, and in 2014, he published a collection of poems, “My stick is with me, and the universe shakes beneath me,” published by the Egyptian General Authority for Cultural Palaces, and in 2020, he published a collection of “I don't like people that fade.” by Egyptian Dar Al-Ain.
He participated with a paper entitled "Creativity and Technology - From Paper to Digital" in a critical session on "Electronic Criticism... Its Prospects and Mechanisms" within the activities of the Third Forum for the New Text (Beyond the Prose Poem) organized by the Yemeni “Arweqah” Foundation for Studies, Translation and Publishing at the Supreme Council of Culture during the period From February 2 to 4, 2013, the research was published in the "New Culture" magazine, which is issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

He also participated as a researcher in the "Egyptian Literary Conference, Session 28" with his research titled "Information, the Internet, and Social Networks - Tools that strongly accompanied the Egyptian creative scene, beginning at the turn of the millennium," after the research won the competition that was conducted for research submitted to participate in the conference from December 28 to 31, 2013. The research was published in the conference research book.

He also participated as a researcher in the "Egyptian Literary Conference, Session 34" with his research titled "Communication Technologies and Internet websites... What did you present to the Arabic content?" After the research won the competition that was conducted for the research submitted to participate in the conference from 9 to 12 December 2019, it was published in the conference research book.

He is also an active member of the Egyptian Writers Union, the Egyptian General Association for Arabic Calligraphy, and the Egyptian Association of Psychologists.

El-Mostafa is interested in the legacy of the giant Arabic writer, "Abbas Mahmoud Al-Akkad," and he has a book under publication about Abbas Mahmoud Al-Akkad, the thinker, writer, and human being.
