Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o's A Grain of Wheat explores the moral and social complexities of Kenya's transition to independence. Centered on Mau Mau rebellion figure Mugo and framed by the Swahili proverb "That which bites you is in your own clothing", the novel uncovers deep themes of guilt, alienation, and internal betrayal.

The Arabic edition of A Grain of Wheat is translated by Abdel Karim Mahfoud.

The discussion will be conducted in Arabic and moderated by Egyptian novelist Mohamed Tawfik.
