Neighbourhood's Grandmothers
In this work, I attempt to listen to what remains of a story’s memory before it fades away. Through this book, I draw close to five grandmothers who lived in our neighborhood—not merely as fleeting names, but as bearers of an entire era, one that resides within their voices and the seemingly simple details of their daily lives—details that are, in fact, rich with life and meaning. These stories are not just about the grandmothers themselves; they are about the place that shaped us, the memory striving to survive oblivion, and the tales recounted with a patience that mirrors their own. "The Grandmothers of Our Neighborhood" is an endeavor to capture small yet profound moments—moments that encapsulate a history of resilience, love, loss, and endurance.
