Academic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ain Shams University, Egypt.

His career was marked by an early emotional and cultural connection to Egypt, dating back to the 1950s and 60s, predating his studies there.

Professional and Media Career:

He began his career in journalism in 1979 by joining the UAE's Al-Ittihad newspaper.

He progressed through various positions within the newspaper, working in the cultural section, eventually becoming Managing Editor in 2007-2008.

He is known for writing a daily column in Al-Ittihad titled "Marfa'a" (Ports).

He served as the Director of the "Qalam" project, affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage.

Literary and Intellectual Output

He is considered one of the most prominent literary pioneers in the UAE, and his works are characterized by their rich diversity:

Novels: He has written 20 novels, the most famous of which is "The Confession" (1982), which was selected by the Arab Writers Union as one of the 100 best Arabic novels of the 20th century. Other works include "The Sword and the Flower," "Ashes of Blood," "The Hill of the Idol," and "Jalfari on the Banks of the Nile."

Short Stories: He published the collection "The Claws" in 1979, his first published work, and more recently, the collection "The Pandemic Bands."

Theater: He has contributed several plays to the Arabic literary canon, including "The Yawn of Evening" and "The Message and the Islands of Peace."

Intellectual and Reflective Books: He has written works that address national figures, philosophy, and place, such as "Zayed: The Moral Figure," "The Reality of Terrorism: Walking Precedes Awareness," "Reflections on Happiness and Positivity," and "Dubai: An Icon of Life."

The author has received numerous prestigious local and Arab awards, including:

The Emirates Appreciation Award for Science, Arts, and Literature in the field of fiction (2008).

The Media Excellence Award from the Taryam Omran Journalism Award (2000).
