The wisdom of Gibran's words:" My awakening is the most profound of my dreams" is unparalleled in twentieth century literature. It is both Freudian and Jungian without really being either. It is so realistic and absurd while at the same time remaining aloof of the major artistic movements of the twentieth century. And when he says:" Is our separation the day in which we are reunited?" I feel that he is describing at the most profound level possible the duality of pain and rejoicing that all lovers know, the duality to longing and disenchantment.

بالنسبة للحوار الدائر بين الزميلين أحمد وجاسم أرى أن الخلاف الفكري بينهما لا مجال له في إطار مناقشة عمل الآستاذ جبران، فالأستاظ جبران لم ينتقد الدين بأي شكل من الأشكال ولم يحط من شأنه ولم ينطق بكلمة تتعارض معه، أما اعتبار أن أي عمل أدبي يعد في حد ذاته مخالف للدين هي دعوة تتسم بقدر غير قليل من الرجعية لا شك ، فدعوا الدين لأهله واتركوا الأدب للمتخصصين فيه

يطرح جبران حكمة لها مغزى خاص في عصر تتضاعف فيه الفجوة ما بين الأغنياء والفقراء سواء داخل كل مجتمع أو ما بين الدول المختلفة عندما يقول: " أو ليس الخوف من الحاجة هو الحاجة بعينها ؟ "
فكل احصاءات البنك الدولي لا تكفي للتفرقة ما بين الغني والفقير فالغنى كالفقير لا يتعدى كونها حالة نفسية ، والاحتفاظ بالموروث الثقافي للشعوب يزيد في قيمته عن كل دولارات العالم

The Prophet of Kahlil Gibran is committed to the human heritage. To speak its words is like a prayer. Temper your pride with humility when the tears of joy mist your eyes and you remember the deeds of the heroes of our time fighting for honour and glory to defeat the ill-will of a vicious horde who have put a false claim to your history. To which mother the child Gibran spoke of shall be born to rock the sun, 'Awake our day!' The dark shadows will then grow small upon the battle torn lands and all will rejoice for he shall set our people free. Anew we'll be the interpreters of God to bring humanity together. We WILL make the whole world young once again.

بالنسبة لرسالة الأخ أحمد رمضان أود أن أذكره بأن الشرائع الدينية هى أصل التقدم والرقي البشرى في العالم بأسره وأن اعتبار الدين تخلفا هو بمثابة الجهل بعينه، وفي الواقع أنه قي الوقت الذي يدعي فيه جبران وأمثاله الدفاع عن الأخلاق والقيم، فهم لا يعملون إلا على تمييع الشرائع وتبرير الفساد وصرف الناس عن كلام الله فحقيقة الأمر أن جبران يبرر بفكره شرب الخمر والميسر وحتى الجرائم يبررها أيضا

I had this precious book in my library for years. One of the few I read over and over again and each time I rediscover the beauty of its verse.Gibran is no ordinary writer and I worship his philosophy.

فيما يتعلق برأى الأخ الفاضل جاسم أود أن أذكره بما جاء في مقدمة الكتاب والتي أعدها السيد أنطونيوس بشير عام 1926 والتى قال فيها: " فهناك أنصار الحرف القاتل الذين يؤلغون الآغلبية الساحقة من ذوى الشرائع يحاربون الروح المجددة."
ومن المؤسف أن المقدمة التى كتبها السيد أنطونيوس عام 1926 تبدو وكأنها كتبت اليوم وهو الآمر الذى يؤكده كلام الأخ الفاضل، للأسف العالم كله يتقدم ويتطور باستثنائنا نحن بحيث نزداد تخلفا وتدهورا

أكثر ما يستفزني في كتاب النبي لخليل جبران هو أنه يسعى الى وضع منهج أخلاقي متكامل في صورة النصائح التي يقدمها أحد الأنياء لامتخيلين الى قومه وهو بذلك يتجاهل الرسائل السماوية الأصيلة والتي جاءت عن مصدر إلهي ويفترض أن بمقدور البشر الخروج للناس بما هو أفضل من كلام الله، وهو أمر يتضح فشله الذريع في هذا الكتاب فما من جديد أتى به السيد جبران غير موجود وبشكل أفضل كثيرا في القرآن الكريم والحديث الشريف وكان بالأخرى لجبران وغيره بأن يذكروا الناس بأهمية الرجوع الى دينهم

أعجبنى جدا روعة الأستاذ الكبير جبران خليل وما تضمنته من حكم ودرر فى شتى مجالات الحياة، لكنه عندما يقول " غنوا وارقصوا معا، وكونوا فرحين أبدا، ولكن فليكن لكل منكم وحده "
وذلك فيما يتعلق بالزواج والحياة الزوجية فأننى أجد نفسى لا أستطيع الاتفاق معه، فعندما يأتى الوقت المناسب لى للزواج يهمنى التركيز على التوحد مع شريك العمر لا الابتعاد عنه، ولذلك أجدنى أتساءل هل عاش جبران حياة زوجية سعيدة؟

Gibran sounds very smart but is he really? When he says that the murder victim is not innocent of his own murder it sounds very profound doesn't it but does it really have any meaning? Gibran is probably one of the early masters of the art of feel good. Now there are so many of them that such words sound nauseating.
