I was originally interested in reading reviews about the works of Ahdaf Soueif, whom I found to be very enjoyable, meticulously written and thoroughly researched. Her treatment of cross-cultural matters is done with admirable snsitivity. So far, I have read two of her novels; "In the Eye of the Sun" and "The Map of Love". Both came as presents from a close friend in the U.S. (Like myself he was born in Egypt). However, I was glad to see Soueif's works available in Melbourne (Australia) where I wettled with my wife and my daughter nearly thirty-four years ago. My wife enjoyed reading the two novels as well. The content of the site is coloured in the sense of all the needs of an Arab living abroad, Want to buy a book? You may find it there, discuss a book? Debate on a theme or just say your own meaning? It is there. I liked your site. Just a problem ! although I contribute in Arabic and it is Arabic while I am writing it, but when submitted it turns to " unreadable symbols". This problem is not actual in other places on the net.
