New Our May 2008 selection Dr.Hayam Saleh's Response title: Wagner: The Rebel Tune name: Ali Tal Email: jordonurdon@yahoo.com comments: This well written book (Wagner: The Rebel Tune) by Saladin Boustany, is a thought-busting effort on Wagner’s music in 19th century at the time of the emerging German national pride that left me cold. Maybe it was the lauding tribute of Mr Boustanyn’s to the great man’s myth-making talents both in words and music that I had an issue with. I must admit I was quite surprised by the author’s conniving assertion that Western Music (of course including that of rowdy Wagner) is almost the only universal musical heritage and therefore he eagerly ascertains to his Arab readers to applaud Wagner’s compositions and that we ought to take pleasures in his music and literature. It is quite hard for me to see how such xenophobic and complex character could be an inspiration to our deeply original musical heritage. Hayam Saleh's Response to her Readers' Comments رد من الدكتورة هيام صالح أشكركم شكرا جميلا .. لا أستطيع فعلا التعبير عن تقديري وامتناني لمناقشة روايتي ( أنت وحدك السماء ) في شهر مايو الماضي في منتدي الكتاب العربي . هذا تكريم وتشريف لي أن تناقش روايتي في موقع ناقش إبداعات أدباء أساتذة لي وأنا ما زلت الكاتبة المغمورة القابعة في أقصي جنوب مصر. ياه .. أظنني أحلم !!!! ما أدهشني حقا التعليقات من قراء الموقع فالرواية اعتبرها أجمل ما كتبت لكن بها بعض التقنيات فيشق علي البعض التواصل معها إلا القارئ اليقظ المحب للإبداع . قراء المنتدي كانوا علي مستوي رائع من تذوق الإبداع والوصول لجمالياته .. أشكرهم علي القراءة الجميلة وعلي تعليقاتهم وأتمني أن ألتقي بهم في روايات قادمة بإذن الله . هناك نقطة لفتت انتباه معظم القراء وهي الجثة التي عثروا عليها طافية في النيل ولم يتوصل القراء لكشف غموضها يمكنني فقط القول أن سر الجثة في ردائها وألوانه. أتمني للموقع وللقراء ولنا أيضا التوفيق والنجاح. تصبحون علي خير هيام title: You Alone are the Sky name: Sarah Mortada Email: comments: I am always impressed with your selections particulalry with the novels. Hayam Saleh's clever plot tells the story of a family in a society that has not changed much in thousands of years. While the secrets of the floating body in the image rich opening scene are never revealed, we soon realise how Mansour, Safaa, Tahera and most of the main characters' share of tragedy and oppression are not very different to that of the mystery woman's body thrashed back and forth by the river's ripples. title: أنت وحدك السماء name: بنت النيل Email: comments: الرواية جيدة وممتعة ومكتوبة بلغة راقية واسلوب شيق وأكثر ما أعجبني فيها هو النهاية غير المتوقعة فجو الرواية كان ينبئ بنهاية مأساوية حتمية متوازية مع نهاية الفتاة المجهولة الطافية التي بدأت بها الرواية في اول صفحة ولكن اختارت الكاتبة أن تنيهيها بطريقة غير متوقعة وأعتقد أن هذا كان اختيارا موفقا منها وأضاف الى الرواية كعمل متكامل. title: You Alone are the Sky name: Rita Naim Email: rtnaim@yahoo.com.au comments: Interesting novel. I too found it very hard to put down until I reached the very end. Lucky it was only a little over 150 pages ! A good mix of mystery and intrigue, love and jealousy, oppression and struggle, even humour and mischief.It was indeed a relief to have ended with a sense of hope rather than tragically. title: A Critique of Modernity name: Borhan Riad Email: rborhan@hotmail.com comments: Although this considerable work, a good twenty years old, provides a profound vision of the fragmentation of post-modern society, it is outdated today in the sense that it is a pre 9/11 pre 7/7 view of history. Today, the concept of the end of history has been overtaken by events. Tribalism , racism, xenophobia and militarism have returned post-modern society back to traditional history. title: نقد الحداثة name: محمد عابد Email: mohammad_abed@maktoob.com comments: يبلور هذا الكتاب بشكل منهجي مدروس حالة التشرذم التي أصابت المجتمعات الحديثة، فمع تعقد حركة المجتمع وتشابك أنماط الانتاج وأمواج التطور التكنولوجي المتلاحق تحولت المجتمعات الى مجموعة متناثرة متداخلة من الجزر المنعزلة مما يتطلب علم اجتماع جديد للتعريف بها. title: نقد الحداثة name: ثورة Email: thawra 48 comments: الفكرة المحورية لهذا الكتاب تتمثل في التضاد بين العقل والدين، حيث يعتبر المؤلف الفرنسي أن الحداثة هي التخلي عن الدين لصالح العقل، وهو فكر ينطوي على العديد من المغالطات، ويروج لمجتمع علماني مادي خال من القيم الروحية والابعاد الانسانية ، وهي النظرة التي رفضتها شعوبنا العربية ولم تنجح جهود الغرب الحثيثة، بمساعدة بعض العملاء العرب من المستغربين، في تطويعها واجتذابها عن قيمها الأصيلة. title: نقد الحداثة name: Nelly Mokhtar Email: Nelly Mokhtar comments: يبدو أن هذا الكتاب قيم فعلا وسيكون اضافة جيدة للمكتبة ولكنه بصراحة معقد ويصعب فهمه كأننا عدنا للمدرسة مرة أخرى. أين القصص الرومانسية يا ناس؟ title: A Critique of Modernity name: Rita Naim Email: rtnaim@yahoo.com.au comments: This book attempts to describe the deconstruction of societies caused by the advent of modernity. What it succeeds in doing, however, is to underline the complexities of modern societies which makes a simplistic definition impossible. What this book does is to demonstrate the confused state of modern philosophy. |
